Hot Toys Luke Skywalker Bespin Set

Hi, this year I was very generous to me. See my Christmas present below :-D

I am not a Star Wars fan. But I fell in love with this Mark Hamill sculpt and as the set provided me with two bodies and numerous hands I thougt it would be the right choice! Now I am having fun with the set.
Yesterday I visited another 1/6 scale enthusiast. She build a wonderful log cabin. So we met to play dollies (uhm, that means posing figures and taking photos).
Who would expect two Luke Skywalkers as visitors asking for help in a log cabin?

Office

Lots of stuff is still missing but a room with desk and chair can be an office. So here the first picture of an office. Of course it is not THE office yet. What office I am talking about people will know who also adore this one tv-show show ...

Office chair

When you have a desk you also need a proper chair. So I made one :-D For the chair I used artificial leather, wood, cardboard, apoxie sculpt, felt, soft stuffing and acrylic paints. Here it is:

Office desk

Next to the hospital room I am also working on a headquarter office for Steve and Danny. First piece to be finished is this desk. It is made of ply wood, cardboard and plastic sheets.

Steve

Finally Steve in all his "beauty". I think my friend did a great job.

Infusion stand

Another piece for my hospital project: an infusion stand including infusion-bottle.
I bought the infusion bottle in the big online auction house. Then I used wire to make a hanger and wood for the stand. It's painted with acrylic colours.

Hospital bedside table

After a long time I finally found energy again to continue my project :-D
The next part for my hospital project: a bedside table in 70s-design. The first time I did a piece of furniture with drawers.

More 70s people

My group of 70s people is gradually growing.
These are my newest additions. I combined several body parts and clothing stuff. Doing this I felt Frankenstein-like :-O
I like the result :-D

Steve in the making ...

Steve is ordered and currently in the making. Here is a first glimpse. Nose and mouth are already very recognizable. Can't wait for the rest. My friend who is sculpting him is doing an awsome job :-)

Softly beeping heart monitor

Hi there, I have read in many fan fiction stories about the softly beeping heart monitor. So I really had to make one for the hospital diorama that I am planning. The inside is filled with aluminium foil. The outside is sculpted with Fimo. It is painted with acrylic paint.

Not the right time for Christmas

Well, it is not Christmas time but I simply could not resist showing it before packing it back into the cellar.
The whole tree has a height of somewhere 17 cm. Awfully cute :-)

Diorama building

Hi there,

I plan several dioramas. But until I am able to actually build them I have to collect enough material to furnish them.

So I will show new stuff that I have been able to get in different articles here in the blog and then give them proper labelling. As a result it will be possible to search all articles belonging to a special diorama project :-)

One diorama I am planning to build is a hospital room in 70s style. Here is the first stuff I could gather: several medical pots and bottles and two clipboards. Those two will need a little makeover in de-pinking them.

Another great mailday - awesome :-)

Hey, today arrived stuff from the U.S. and Germany.
The German package had part of Barbie's dreamstore in it and great chairs, table and record player for a living room. Those chairs and table just look like cool 70s stuff but I have no idea who once produced them. If you have any idea, please tell me :-)

Mail from China

Ha, finally today arrived an envelope from Hong Kong containing some clothing stuff I ordered back in December. Well, Steve's head has to be sculpted yet. But at least he has partly arrived ;-)
And Danny (in the green suit) finally got his brown tie.
By the way: the Hong Kong letters always have so beautiful stamps. Again all birds: kingfisher, sea eagle and a wagtail.

Hello :-)

Hello,

where to start?
As the title suggests I like miniatures in 1/6 scale. You can get an awful lot of stuff in 1/6 but it is less easy with what I am looking for. There is so much pink Barbie-stuff. No, not for me. Well, some for customising. And there are all these war/combat/military figures and fitting equipment. No, also not for me. But again, some stuff for customising.
I mainly try to develop a little world set in civil life somewhere around the late 60s and 70s. Why? Well, it is inspired by a TV-show produced at that time, that I am very fond of.

Cheers, Birko :-)
